Applying for a Scholarship is Easy!

High school seniors submit:

1) A completed application form

2) An essay 

3) Two letters of recommendation

For complete application information, download the application rules and form below and submit by May 15th of each year. 

Guidelines for Grants

The S.T.A.R. Foundation of Monterey County provides grant support to youth-related performing arts programs.

Our grants are designed to supplement existing programs and to help in the creation of worthy new ones.


We provide funding for:

  • Capital technical expense (lighting, sound and musical equipment, etc.)

  • Augmentation of instruction (guest artists/teachers, make-up, scenic, sound or lighting design, the maintenance of musical instruments, etc.)

  • Special projects 

Qualified programs will:

  • Work under a non-profit status

  • Be a youth-related performing arts program for primary, secondary schools, or college

  • Submit a budget, with highlighted youth-related line items

  • Be required to show other sources of funding

Application deadlines are January 15 and August 15 of each year.
